Safe wax to burn in small enclosures!

 Our Beeswax candles are simply the healthier choice in candles!  Tallow (animal fat) and honey beeswax were the traditional natural materials used for candles, slowly as technology advanced and progressed, synthetic materials were introduced that produce cheap candles but are unnatural, unsafe and unhealthy to burn.

What is Paraffin Wax and Why is Beeswax the SmartWax for Wax Candles

Paraffin wax is the grayish-black sludge that is a by-product of the petroleum refining process, found at the bottom of the barrel. (Already this doesn’t sound right, safe or natural and it gets worse!)

Look at burning paraffin wax candles in your home this way;

If someone asked you to breathe in the toxic fumes from a diesel engine, you would rightfully think this to be crazy, unhealthy, unsafe, unnatural and an unreasonable request! Rightfully So!

So then you would have to ask yourself the same question about breathing the air after burning paraffin wax candles in your home.  Here’s a list of some of the chemicals found in paraffin wax and the smoke from paraffin wax; formaldehydetoluenebenzene, ethanol, and acetone, not to mention the soot from burning paraffin wax contains; carcinogensneurotoxins and reproductive toxins.  The lead wicks used to burn in candles are also guilty of dispensing chemicals in the air. Un-BEE-lievable Buzz Kill!

What are Gel candles made of?

Gel candles are made with mineral oil (a petroleum based product), polymer resin (a plastic) and synthetic colors and fragrances that when burned produce toxic fumes.

Does any of this sound safe, in anyway natural or healthy to you? Did you ever wonder about the black soot in your candle holders, walls or ceiling?

What is Soy Wax?

Soy wax is hydrogenated soybean oil and the soya bean is grown using high intensity farming practices with fertilizersherbicides, pesticides and chemicals and the majority are now genetically modified seeds.  To solidify the oil, hydrogen and nickel (a suspected carcinogen) is then added to the mixture.

What is Palm Oil Wax

Palm Oil Wax is carcinogen free and genetically modified, but synthetic fragrances & dyes are usually added.  It is hard to locate due to the fact it comes from Malaysia and there are many environmental issues with large palm oil plants destroying the land.

Now we will show you want Beeswax Contains and The Benefits of Beeswax and Beeswax Candles!

Bee Pro All Natural 100% Pure Canadian Beeswax with 100% Cotton Wicks are clearly the healthy and wiser choice for you and your family with no artificial colors or fragrances as beeswax is a naturally scentsy candle wax.  Natural beeswax is the only all natural candle wax, as well as being non allergenic and a natural air purifier.  When beeswax is burned it emits negative ions, which traps and neutralizes the bacteria, viruses, dust, pollen and odors in the air you breathe, making beeswax candles healthier that burn clean and natural.

The facts are, as well as beeswax being healthier candle from you and your family, it has a natural sweet aroma of honey and flowers, it is non allergenic, they burn and last longer, have a brighter more natural flame, provide more natural heat, have less wax drippings, little to no smoke, contain no lead wicks and NO synthetic colors or fragrances.

 Store candles in cool dry place. Extinguish candles by carefully dipping the wick in the liquid wax, this eliminates wick smoke and makes for easier relighting (be sure to reposition wick and use a metal spoon or object to do so). Keep wax pool free of all foreign debris to decrease fire hazards. Prevent candle tunneling by extinguishing candle flame and gently push the softened wax( once wax has cooled to touch) around the candle towards the middle. Recommended burn time is 1 hour for each inch of candle diameter. Bloom is a powdery substance that may form on the outside of the candle (usually when cold or exposed to air). It is caused by softer oils in the wax that come to the surface. It is NOT HARMFUL and can be wiped off with a dry cloth or with a blow dryer ( making sure to not hold too close to the candle that wax will melt). Wick length should be a standard 1/4” in length, if wick is too long it will result in the burning of actual wick and the wax will burn faster, if wick is too short you will have a shorter flame and it will not produce the proper heat.

Candle Safety:

 Burn candles at least 4 “ apart When using wood based candle holders do NOT burn candle to the end. Never leave lit candles unattended or around children or pets unsupervised. Always place candles on heat resistant surface. Keep burning candles within sight. Never burn on or near anything that can catch fire ( e.g. curtains, newspapers, party decorations, clothing). Candles are an open flame and can cause fire if not attended at ALL times. Never fall asleep or leave house with candles burning. Candles with more than 1 wick should be lit one at time. Be sure all candle holders are safe and sturdy (not made from a burnable substance). Never drop objects such as matches into candle. Teach your children about fire safety and the dangers of open flames, teach them they are not toys and should not be blown out without asking. Keep wicks at a 1/4’ in length. Do not touch or move candles when they are burning or while wax is hot. Do not burn candles on bookshelves or underneath low cabinets.
